Self-Portraits by Ben Zank

Ben Zank takes self-portraits that aim to stretch the viewer’s imagination and express his feelings when words fail. Zank says that his “photographs are a way for [him] to abstractly speak my opinion and bring my emotions to light.”

Next week our photography assignment is to take a self-portrait of our opposite. Zank’s photos have inspired me and given me ideas for this assignment. I am usually a very light and sarcastic person, and Zank’s photos are dark and mysterious. Perhaps I can incorporate a dark feeling into my photographs for my self-portrait assignment.
