Inspiration Post

Thomas Kneubühler’s work really intrigues me. His work focuses on light coming out of the dark. I love the contrast of his photos and the way the light really stands out and creates contrast against the dark. His website says that, “It[‘s] hard to navigate in the dark, especially in an unknown territory. Over time, the eyes adjust to the darkness, and the new environment starts to emerge.” My favorite series that he has created is that of ski resorts in the night. Kneubühler’s Electric Mountains  show  illuminated Quebec ski resorts. His photos show a strange, rather empty area that is somehow so alive. His photos inspire me for the nothing assignment. His photos look like they are of nothing at first glance, but after closer examination, the photos display a very beautiful array of lights.
