Weekly Extra

I chose to write my weekly extra on these surreal photographs inspired by the woods of Lithuania. In my opinion, the work of this photographer is beautiful, haunting, and mystical. I love how the pictures combine humans and nature to show the close relationship between the two. I think that is fascinating how the artist chose to use antlers and birds to create angel-like wings. In my own work, I would love to be able to incorporate nature into portraits to produce something mystical and intriguing. I have done this partially in the past but mostly with the assistance of Photoshop. It would be a challenge for me to set up a scene to photograph that comes directly from the outdoors.
