The name of the painting I chose to emulate is Mme Kupka Among Verticals by, František Kupka. It was from 1910-1911 on an Oil paint canvas. I chose to use this picture to emulate because I really appealed to the Colors and I had an idea immediately. I used the repetition of colors and lines on top of a face from the painting in my photos. For the photo I used that is not dead on, but an an angle; the eye space is cut off to give an uncomfortable feeling. In the painting The face looks like it is suffering behind the bars, having a similar uncomfortable feeling.
